Dark Skies Discovery

Did you know we are a Dark skies Discovery site at Fort Victoria. This is an accreditation from Royal Observatory, Edinburgh. There are a number of these dark sky accredited sites around the UK.

Important for Fort Victoria, it is particularly good for observing here, though there are some darker sites on the Island; though not as accessible and convenient. Our unique selling point is that it is dark and disabled friendly, easy access, safe, level, tarmac parking and adjacent 24 hour toilets. Also there's the planetarium here, offering telescope observing and a 4K digital planetarium dome, great for when its not clear outside.
